Launched on January 1, 2001
Latest Redesign:
February 2006 |
| Description: |
Goal
was to create a comprehensive directory of every
hotel in the State of California. Ended up
with over 7,700 properties. Forged
partnerships with Lodging.com, HotelDiscounts.com,
and WorldRes.com and integrated their
databases with mine to provide online reservations
at over 3,400 properties. Also partnered with ShowHotel.com
to provide virtual tours of some hotels.
Database was built to include popular destinations
throughout California as well as latitude and
longitude coordinates of every hotel. That
gives the site the ability to list hotels near
virtually every destination in the state including
exact distance calculations to-and-from each hotel. |

| Duration: |

| Description: |
Client
wanted an online app that would allow employees to
take a browser-based survey of their personal work
area. The system would collect and store their
data and then give the user recommendations for
improving their workspace. System needed a
"survey builder" module that would allow
for maintenance of the survey questions and
recommendations. Client also wanted a fair
amount of reporting capabilities. System is
used by every Ergo division at Intel throughout the
world and is accessible by every employee.

| Duration: |

| Description: |
Whenever
a new chip package is created, it must go through a
design process involving various engineers,
designers, and suppliers. This system is
essentially a process flow system that spans the
entire life cycle of a package--from initial request
to purchase order. At each stage of the
process, a person (or persons) enters specific
data. Once inputted, the next person in the
cycle is notified via e-mail and they access the
system and enter their information. The
current status of the package is displayed on each
screen and there are multiple user types with
different capabilities that makeup the user-base of
this app. This system also interfaces with
other existing Intel databases that contain
parts-related data. |

All
workers in the Fab are required to be certified on
each piece of equipment that is used. This
system was designed so that designated
technician-leads can enter certification information
for their respective employees. This
information is then forwarded to the Certification
staff who then migrate the information into Intel's
official certification repository. |

| Description: |
This
was my first site focusing on the lodging
industry. It too had the goal of providing a
comprehensive directory of hotels throughout Arizona
with the ability to book online. Partnerships
with Lodging.com and ShowHotel.com
provided reservations and virtual tours. What
distinguishes this site from my California site is
that this site was much more focused on giving hotel
owners the ability to completely control the content
of their listing. As such, an extensive hotel
owner interface was developed that allows owners to
input text, specify rates, select amenities, and
upload photos. This site does not have all of
the geographic features of the California site, so I
am in the process of updating it to be inline with
my newer business model. |

Large,
highly complex system that serves as a repository
for a large percentage of Intel's Fab Finance
information. Fabs throughout the world input
their finance information into this system via a
wide variety of customizable input forms. The
data is then consolidated and reports are
generated. This system has extensive reporting
requirements. We originally tried to meet
reporting requirements using Crystal Reports 8.0,
but later decided to use ActiveReports for various
reasons. This system was easily the largest I
have worked on during my tenure as a contractor at
Intel. |

Safety
is an important issue in any manufacturing
environment that involves large pieces of equipment
and many workers. This system was requested by
the client so that roving security inspectors could
record their safety findings in an organized fashion
and generate reports to show the overall safety
record of the various shifts that are worked at Fab
12. This application required extensive
graphing and charting capabilities--all of which
were accomplished by the third-party product
GraphicServer. |

Intel
has many employees that are immigrants to the United
States. This system was requested for the
purpose of eliminating the hundreds of phone calls
that the Intel Immigration department handles each
week pertaining to employees wanting to check the
status of their immigration paperwork. The app
provides a web interface whereby employees and their
managers can check status online. In addition,
a special Extranet interface was created so that
persons newly hired (though not yet working)
employees can check their status outside of the
Intel firewall before they start employment. A
custom VB executable was also written to replicate
data from Intel's central immigration database. |
